Ashok Leyland subsidiary Switch Mobility has unveiled the EiV 22, India's first electric double-decker AC bus.

The Switch EiV 22 was created, developed, and produced in India using Switch's extensive experience with electric buses. It is outfitted with the newest technology, the most cutting-edge design, the highest level of safety, and the best-in-class comfort features.

Introducing the newest iteration of city bus transportation. The famous double-decker bus has switched to all-electric travel for safer, more efficient trips that don't harm the environment.

The EiV 22 is based on the single-deck EiV 12 type and can carry up to 65 people. Standing people can also be accommodated on the lower deck. The front and back of the bus both have doors, and there are two stairs leading up to the upper deck.

Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, unveiled India's first electric double-decker air-conditioned bus on Thursday in Mumbai. The new electric double-decker bus will be the first in the world to include a semi-low floor.

The NiCoMn (Nickel Cobalt Manganese) battery pack used by the EiV 22 is rated to have a maximum range of 250 kilometres on a single charge.

Modern AC technology is included in this cutting-edge EV, providing efficient cooling in India's scorching climate. Extra-wide front and back doors, two staircases, and an emergency door that complies with the most recent safety regulations are among the amenities.

The double-decker is the best kind of transportation for cities. The Switch EiV 22 can carry 65 passengers in comfort thanks to its optimised seating, using less space per passenger on the floor of the road, terminal, and depot.

The 231kWh battery in the Switch Mobility electric bus can charge from zero to one hundred percent in 80 minutes. Range of Switch EV buses in India have regularly had an uptime of over 98%, which is a testament to the performance, engineering, and design of the product.
