Yamaha has introduced the EMF electric scooter, with features of a swappable battery

Yamaha launched the Yamaha EMF electric scooter in partnership with Gogoro. This is the manufacturer’s second electric car after the creation of the EC-05 in 2019. Yamaha, but Hero MotoCorp is also partnering with Gogoro to produce electric vehicles.

The manufacturer’s partnership with Gogoro brings several benefits, such as an established network of battery replacement stations and advanced battery architecture, among others. This collaboration has a sweet ending for both sides.

The Yamaha EMF seems to have ushered in a new generation of Yamaha styling. The scooter differs from other Yamaha models in design, appearance, and technology. Help Yamaha step into the future with colors like light blue, dark green, and dark black. The EMF was equipped with features such as a flat front apron, LED headlights, a digital instrument cluster, afterburner-style LED lights at the rear, and a one-piece seat.

In addition, they added a little storage space in the floorboards. Adhering to the futuristic design, they use an NFC card to turn the scooter on and off. It also gains connectivity, which helps to access the scooter with features such as a fleet management system, turn-by-turn navigation, and last parking position.

As for power, the Yamaha EMF comes with an electric motor that puts out 10.30 horsepower. Maximum torque at 2500 rpm at 3000 rpm and 26 Nm. Electric motors are known for quick acceleration. Following the same trend; the EMF sprints from 0 to 50 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

In Taiwan, with Gogoro, Yamaha customers have spare battery change stations, making range less of an issue. It is very similar to a trip to the gas station.

The EMF suspension system is a combination of a front fork and dual shock absorbers at the rear. The braking system has a 200mm disc at the front and a 190mm disc at the rear with CBS for better control.

The Yamaha EMF is priced at NT$102,800 which is Rs 2.77 lakh in India. Although there seems to be no information about the launch of EMF in India.
